Description
WORKPRO WP204013 Professional Petrol Engine Compression Tester Kit (0-20 bar / 0-300 PSI) – is the essential diagnostic tool for every mechanic or car owner to determine the health of their engine. This kit allows you to accurately measure cylinder compression, helping to diagnose issues like poor performance, leaky valves, or worn piston rings before embarking on costly and complex repairs.
Professional Features and Benefits:
-
High Diagnostic Accuracy: The kit helps you monitor pressure changes inside the cylinders to identify leaks in piston rings or valves, ensuring efficient and reliable fault correction.
-
Dual Scale Gauge: Equipped with two scales (Bar) and (PSI) with a range of up to 20 bar / 300 PSI, protected by a rubber housing to absorb shocks and protect the gauge from breakage.
-
Comprehensive Adapters (M10, M12, M14, M18): Comes with 4 electroplated brass adapters to fit all types of spark plug holes in most international vehicles (BMW, Mercedes, Toyota, Ford, etc.).
-
Durable and Sealed Design: The connections feature excellent air tightness, with a sensitive side release valve that allows for quick gauge reset for the next test.
-
Flexible Testing Options: The kit includes a flexible pressure hose, as well as two rigid pressure tubes (one straight and one angled) equipped with conical rubber tips for quick testing without the need to screw in.
Correct Usage Steps (for most accurate results):
- Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature (70-90 degrees Celsius).
- Turn off the engine and remove all spark plugs.
- Open the throttle completely during the test to ensure maximum air intake.
- Install the appropriate adapter into the spark plug hole, then crank the engine for 3-5 seconds.
- Record the displayed reading, then repeat the process for each cylinder and compare the results (readings should be similar).
Kit Contents:
- 1 x Pressure gauge with protective housing.
- 1 x Heavy-duty flexible hose.
- 4 x Threaded brass adapters (M10, M12, M14, M18).
- 2 x Pressure tubes with rubber tips (straight and angled).
- 1 x Durable plastic carrying case (PE Toolbox).
Technical Tip: If you find low compression in a cylinder, pour a teaspoon of engine oil into the spark plug hole and retest; if the compression increases, it means the problem is with the piston ring, and if it remains the same, the problem is most likely with the valves.
