- 2. The outdoor unit is battery-powered and supports solar charging, eliminating the need for electrical wiring during installation. Furthermore, the outdoor unit connects to the indoor touchscreen via Wi-Fi, eliminating the need for internet connections between the two devices. However, wiring is required to connect the outdoor unit for gate/door control, and users also need a power cable to power the indoor screen.
- 3. The outdoor unit only supports solar charging and is compatible with the included solar panel. The indoor display must be connected to a power source. The inclusion of the supporting solar panel in the EP7 kit is intended to provide an additional power source for the main unit, helping to extend the door phone's battery life and reduce the frequency of recharging. Please note that the solar panel is not the primary or sole option for powering your EP7 door phone, as its charging efficiency depends heavily on sunlight exposure (which can be significantly affected by the location and orientation of the solar panel and whether there are other objects in the area blocking sunlight) and the frequency of controlled door opening activities. If the solar panel is unable to keep the EP7 powered, you can simply remove the battery from the outdoor unit by unscrewing the battery cover and charge the battery inside without moving the main unit itself.
- 4- Only the outdoor unit and solar panel are weather-resistant. The touchscreen must be installed indoors.
- 5. Users can customize the ringtone displayed on the indoor screen via touch controls or the EZVIZ app. The outdoor doorbell provides only one default ringtone, which cannot be customized.
- 6- Cloud storage service is only available in certain markets
- 7. The maximum transmission distance supported by Wi-Fi Halow™ between the indoor monitor and the outdoor door phone may vary due to several factors, including the number and thickness of walls, obstructions within the transmission area, weather conditions, and others. The maximum transmission distance of 400 meters was tested in an open environment without the aforementioned influencing factors. For example, the transmission distance is significantly affected by the number of walls in the environment: 110 meters with one wall between them, 75 meters with two walls, and 65 meters with three walls (these figures are based on the thickness of each wall being approximately 30 to 40 centimeters, measured as a straight line between the two devices). Humid weather conditions or obstructions such as trees along the transmission path may also affect Wi-Fi Halow™ performance. It is recommended not to mount the devices on a metal surface, as metal can significantly impact transmission performance, which is also why the door intercom is equipped with a plastic casing.
