Gypsum board putty

Tools needed

• A scalpel .
• A stiff (wire) brush.
• A shovel.
• Gypsum board paste.
• Mesh strip.
• Fine sandpaper (sandpaper).
• Paint or wallpaper.

Steps

• Use a sharp knife or scalpel to make V-shaped cuts along the crack.
• Clean the cut area using a stiff brush.
• Use a spatula to fill the crack with gypsum board putty.
• Cover the tear with mesh tape.
• Apply a thin layer of paste over the mesh strip, slightly wider on both sides of the slit.
• Wait for the paste to dry for at least 12 hours.
• Use sandpaper to sand the surface of the area.
• Apply suitable wallpaper or paint the cracked surface.
