How to repair cabinet hinges

Kitchen and pantry cabinet hinges often become worn out after several years, causing them to make annoying noises or even break down, necessitating replacement. You don't need a carpenter to replace them; here are some tips to help you change and replace them with new ones:

  • Unscrew the old joint using a screwdriver, depending on the type of screw, whether it's a regular screw or a Phillips screw.
  • If the new hinge holes are different from the old ones, don't worry, make new holes using the old screws and don't worry about the old holes.
  • Use a new joint of a different type than the old one.
  • Install the new hinges on the sliding door, and mark the screw locations.
  • Make a simple hole at the point.
  • Place the hinge and secure its screws by placing them on the small hole that you made in step 5.
  • Attach the second part of the hinge to the fixed end of the cabinet.
