Everything you want to know about screwdrivers

An electric screwdriver is a key tool for any technician. It allows for more efficient and faster screw removal compared to a traditional screwdriver. Alongside a hammer and drill, a screwdriver is also one of the essential pieces of equipment every household should have in their toolbox for small tasks and emergency responses.

Multiple Types of Ratchet Screwdrivers:

Traditional Screwdriver:

As the name suggests, it is a ratchet screwdriver that contains a gasket, which allows the tool to rotate in any direction without much difficulty. This precise screwdriver is characterized by its ability to be used in all positions and at all angles, thanks to its good grip.

Cordless Screwdriver:

This type of cordless screwdriver is small in size and is used only for light work, as using it for heavy-duty tasks may cause the device to break down. Its small size makes it easy to carry and store.

Cordless Impact Screwdriver:

(Also suitable for heavy-duty work):

This type is suitable for heavy-duty activities that take a long time and require power. This model works in a way that applies additional force similar to a hammer drill. This quickly drives screws into hard materials.

Steps to use a screwdriver:

Although it is an easy-to-use tool, it requires some steps to be followed.

It is essential to have a complete set of screwdriver sizes and shapes. You should also prepare slotted heads, cross-head tips, or any other parts you will need. These screwdriver parts will allow you to work on all types of screws.

How to hold a screwdriver:

Generally, the bits have two ends. Each side protrudes with a different tip. For insertion, it will be necessary to hold the tip between the thumb and forefinger and insert it from the correct side. Before use, it will be important to ensure the screwdriver bits are securely tightened in the screwdriver.

Remove screwdriver bits:

To do this, all you have to do is firmly pinch the tip with your thumb and forefinger. As a general rule, this should be enough to remove the tip.

However, your fingers might sweat, and you might not be able to remove the screwdriver bits. If this is the case, you will just have to wipe your hands before re-attempting the procedure.

How do you loosen screws with a screwdriver?

The tool is easy to handle as you won't have to constantly adjust your wrist to fasten or unfasten. All you have to do is hold the tool and the screw and push the tab if you want to loosen or tighten the screw.

After using the tool, and to avoid losing the screws for the next use, don't forget to store them in their case.
