How to choose the right chainsaw/woodcutting saw
The first step to choosing the right chainsaw is understanding your needs for this tool. Chainsaws are used by homeowners, farmers, and professionals who cut down trees and firewood.
If the saw is used at home and for very simple purposes, the most suitable saw is an electric saw. However, if the use is permanent and in areas far from any source of electricity, the appropriate saw is a gasoline saw.
One of the most important factors that determines whether a chainsaw should be electric or gasoline-powered is the type of wood to be cut. If the wood is hard, such as walnut, oak, or beech, then a gasoline chainsaw is the most suitable.
The use of a chainsaw is usually widespread in the fall and winter seasons, and it is available in different sizes. There are chainsaws with a blade length of 14 inches, and there are 16 inches, 18 inches, and 20 inches.
To determine the appropriate saw blade length, it's important to consider that the blade length depends on the piece of wood or tree being cut. If the goal is to cut a log, it's recommended to add 2 inches to the length of the log. For example, if the log is 14 inches long, you will need a 16-inch saw blade. The following table illustrates the most suitable use for each saw blade:
|
length of the offspring |

|
12" - 14" |

|
16" |

How to prepare the saw?
1- All chainsaws arrive from the factory without being filled with oil or gasoline.
2- The gasoline tank is filled with gasoline and oil in a ratio of 20:1 (every 20 liters of gasoline with 1 liter of oil).
3- The oil used is regular 10:40 motor oil.
4- The pump tank must also be filled with oil
Before starting the use process, the following must be considered:
1- Make sure there is an exit and space to escape when cutting down a tree so that it does not fall on you.
2- Be fully prepared for the cutting process by wearing protective eyewear, a work helmet, safety shoes, protective gloves, and ear protection.
3- Be careful of the dangerous area in the hair follicle, shown in red in the picture. Do not let it touch the ground or anything else, and do not cut from this area.
