IP Global Protection Mark
The degree of protection and insulation rating of pumps and electrical appliances are among the most important things to consider when buying a water pump or any electrical appliance exposed to dust or water.
The degree of protection is indicated by the symbol IP followed by a protection number, for example, IP44 . This is a globally recognized protection level where the first digit indicates resistance to solid objects and dust, and the second digit indicates the device's resistance to water.
For the first box , then:
- Number 1: This means that the device is capable of withstanding any solid object with a standard of 50 millimeters.
- Number 2: This means that the device is capable of withstanding any solid object with a standard of 12.5 millimeters.
- Number 3 : This means that the device is capable of withstanding any solid object with a standard of 2.5 millimeters.
- Number 4 means that the device is capable of withstanding any solid object with a standard of 1 millimeter.
- The number 5 means the device is dust-resistant.
- Number 6 : This means that the device is completely dust-resistant, regardless of the dust concentration.
Regarding the second box :
The number 0 means that this device is not waterproof.
Numbers 1 through 4 indicate that the device can withstand some water droplets or rain. More details can be found here.
The numbers from 5 to 9 indicate the depth range of the device and the duration it can remain submerged. The higher the code number, the more durable the device .
This classification is of great importance and is directly related to distinguishing one type of pump from another pump of the same size, and is directly related to increasing the quality of the product and increasing its operational lifespan.
