The difference between a terminal pump and a centrifugal pump is that a terminal water pump has a low flow rate and high pressure, but centrifugal pumps have a high flow rate and also high suction.


They can also be distinguished by the area of ​​the water pump turbine; a peripheral pump has a smaller turbine, and a centrifugal pump has a larger turbine.


The difference between centrifugal and terminal pumps isn't just about size, but also shape. Terminal water pumps consist of a turbine or pointed impeller through which water is circulated, while centrifugal pumps have an opening through which water flows from the center to the edges, and they also contain curved blades.


When deciding which type of pump to buy, you should specify the use for which you want the device:


  • If you want the pump to run for a short period, i.e., to extract water, we recommend a centrifugal pump, because peripheral pumps, when stopped, will cause the water level inside to drop.
  • If you are going to use water pressure to push water into the tank, both devices are suitable, but if the tank height is more than 14 meters, you should use the terminal pump instead.
